For those whose lips are chapped "on account of the excessive embraces of their lovers and their kisses...We treat these women with an ointment made of fleawort".

This recipe comes to us from the Trotula Manuscripts, written in Salerno, Italy, around 1150 AD. An absolute treasure of Medieval knowledge, it was written by a female physician known as "Trota".

We've recreated the "ointment made of fleawort"! Fleawort is an old name for the herb plantain, or Plantago major. We carefully make our own cold-infused plantain oil, and blend it with high-quality beeswax to a silky texture. Plantain gives a "cushiony" feel to the lips, perfect for kissing!

This lip balm has a faint scent of grassy meadows, and a taste similar to green tea.

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Beeswax, Plantain leaf extract.
